so, I take it “planting a kiss” is Emma’s tactic to lull her subject before going for the jugular?
Not in this case, this was not a betrayal with a kiss. She does try to rough-house with Scout on occasion, but here she was paying her obeisance to the queen. As you might guess from her expression, though, Scout wasn’t in the mood to condescend with her subjects and kept on walking.
