Alternate Take

Taken moments after the previous picture, this one I far prefer in black-and-white as when he stretched out his face was blocked from the morning light and the lovely colors behind him became too distracting.

Sonoran Predators

Our cat Boo sits in front of an alligator stuffed animal that appears to be sneaking up on him. Chomp chomp! Taken on December 23, 2023. Original: _A672553.ARW

Predators abound in the Sonoran Desert so best keep your head on a swivel, you never know when one might sneak up on you. Careful though alligator, you might be about to bite off more than you can chew.

The Missing Sam Formation

A black-and-white image of our cats Boo and Trixie resting beside each other on the couch, with Boo stretched towards the camera and Trixie sitting further back. Taken on April 11, 2022. Original: _Z721640.NEF

Days after Sam died a couple of years ago, two cats trying to figure out life without big brother. Boo will let Trixie snuggle against his back when he’s curled up on my legs but we’ve only had one cat that would have tolerated her climbing on him and smashing her face into his and fortunately for Trixie that was Samwise. I’ve tried my best to be a Sam Substitute but I am the palest of imitations.

The View of Boo

Our cat Boo sleeps on a blanket next to the window in my office on April 7, 2022. Original: _Z720340.NEF

Boo loves to sit in the window but I keep the shutters closed during the summer to try to keep the room cool. It’s supposed to be cold this week so I’ll open up his view.
