A black oystercatcher splashes the waters of the Pacific through its feathers as waves lap at the beach at Seal Rock. Taken in the spring of 2005.
An old windswept tree at Seal Rock on the Oregon coast, barely hanging onto the cliffside and to life. Much of the fragile ground has already crumbled away beneath its roots, leaving them exposed, but its remaining roots still help hold the ground in place.
The receding tide left these sea stars high and dry above the tide pool, arm in arm, their forbidden love exposed.
